"The House on the Dune" I Amit biton
Located on the dune kissing the aqueduct of Caesarea a few meters from the beach.
The design of the house is the result of a look at the classic Mediterranean design patterns with a contemporary and abstract point of view, focusing and conceptualizing the concept of "riad".
Open end design, as part of a system that develops and changes mathematically on a limited area over time according to changing needs while maintaining the DNA of the central courtyard.
The house is built of a white concrete shell, which produces a delicate and transparent interior space flooded with gentle and harmonious light.
The space is interwoven with trees, Mediterranean vegetation and natural stone that flows into the interior spaces.
The central courtyard is a bridge connecting the two main levels of the house, a combination of open and protected local courtyards on the different levels form the circular promenade overlooking the ancient canopy of Caesarea on one side and the adjacent eucalyptus grove on the other.
The project seeks maximum integration with the ecosystem of the Mediterranean dunes, and therefore the landscaping is
based on minimal use of water and integration with local shrubs and trees.
The longitudinal facades of the building offer a contrasting image: the eastern and southern facades are protected from the
worst hours of sun exposure and prying eyes from the street, while the western facade is more transparent and allows a direct view of the beach and filtering of sun and salt from the sea
